Survival Guide for the Recession

With high unemployment rates continuing in Northern Michigan, we are making our Survival Guide for the Recession – Resources for Tough Economic Times widely available.  The 20-page document provides a wide range of information for people needing assistance with housing, utilities, food, health care, income, employment resources, and more.

Many people are seeking this type of help for the first time and aren’t familiar with the many public and private agencies and the services they provide.  The Survival Guide lists local and state agencies, along with phone numbers and websites.”

We’ve had a great response to the Guide from human resource directors who have employees facing layoffs or reductions in their incomes. Many human service agencies in the community are also using the resource with their clients.  Updated versions will be posted, as new information becomes available.
