Char-Em United Way maintains an ongoing list of donation drives in Charlevoix and Emmet County. These drives include food, clothing, and school supplies.

Food Pantries
Most food pantries need regular donations of food, personal care and household supplies. Click here for a list of local pantries.
Paper Products
Paper Pantry of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church distributes deodorant, feminine hygiene products, shampoo, cream rinse, soap. laundry detergent, dish liquid, toilet paper, paper towels, kleenex, toothpaste, toothbrushes. Drop off at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church 1450 E. Mitchell Petoskey, MI 49770. These items are not covered by food assistance, so are much needed. Call Bev Engel 347-5448 for info.
Diapers
Also not covered by food assistance, but much needed. The Diaper Pantry distributes these items weekly. Located next to Manna in McBride Park.
Soup Kitchen
The First Presbyterian Church (501 Mitchell St.) does an ongoing Sunday and Thursday lunch. The Church needs food as well as volunteers all year round. Call 347-4792 for info.

School Supplies
United Way annually coordinates the Stuff the Bus school supply drive for children in Emmet and Charlevoix Counties. Drop boxes are placed at local businesses for several weeks in early August, and the drive culminates in donors filling two school busses parked at K-Mart in both Petoskey and Charlevoix. Your company or group can help us collect supplies. Contact vista@charemunitedway.org to get involved.
