Did you know that 85% of brain development happens before the age of 5? Research consistently shows that the first few years of life are critical to a child's development.

United Way’s Born Learning initiative helps parents, caregivers, and our community support positive early childhood development. Born Learning provides easy research-based ways to turn everyday moments into fun learning opportunities for young children. Quality early learning results in reduced crime, less teen pregnancy, more high school graduates, and more individual success in work and life.

Free Born Learning materials are available for download. Char-Em United Way has a strong focus on early childhood and early learning & literacy. We are happy to share these materials with local families and organizations.
